Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how Chargers Near Me (chargersnear.me), operated by Anderson Gomes Ferreira, handles personal data. It is written to meet the GDPR, UK GDPR and Brazil's LGPD.

1. What you type stays on your device

The tools on this site run in your browser. Values you enter are not sent to or stored on our servers. When the site remembers preferences or drafts it uses your browser's local storage, which you can clear at any time.

2. Consent (Google Consent Mode v2)

Until you choose, all measurement and advertising signals are denied by default (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, analytics_storage). Your choice is stored locally and can be changed anytime in (also in the footer). This site currently uses nothing that requires consent, so no cookie notice is shown.

3. Audience measurement

If we enable audience measurement, we will use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures visits in aggregate, without cookies and without identifying you.

4. Advertising

This site takes part in Google AdSense and may show Google ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. Personalized ads and these cookies are only used if you consent in ; without consent the site does not load the ad code.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings or, for other vendors, at aboutads.info. Learn more at How Google uses cookies in advertising and How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

5. Hosting and technical logs

The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes technical connection data (IP address, browser, time) to deliver pages and prevent abuse. We do not use it to identify you.

6. Your rights

You may request access, correction or deletion of personal data and withdraw consent at any time. Since we do not store what you type, clearing your browser storage removes it. Contact: contato@chargersnear.me.

7. Site-specific information

Your location never leaves your device. When you press “Use my location”, your browser asks you for permission first; if you allow it, the position is read once and kept only in the memory of the open tab. The page uses it to choose which data files to download from this site and to measure the distance to each charger on your device. It is not sent to this site, to OpenStreetMap, to any data server or to anyone else, not stored in your browser (no cookie) and not put in the address bar. When you close or reload the tab it is gone.

The one thing this site saves in your browser is your plug filter: the connector types and the minimum power you pick under “My plug”, kept in localStorage so they are there next time. They stay on your device, are never sent anywhere, hold no position and no personal data, and “Clear filters” removes them.

The same goes for coordinates you type or a point you click on the map. The charger data is a set of static files served by this site (the data files are public and the same for everyone). This site’s server can see which data files your browser downloads, as any web server sees which files are requested, and a file covers one square degree (about 111 km), so that reveals only the general area, as your IP address does.

A place name you type is sent to Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org, run by the OpenStreetMap Foundation) only when you press Search, and nothing is sent while you type. Coordinates are never sent to it.

The map comes from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org), which says it uses no cookies and no registration. It is loaded only after you search, and it receives tile numbers for the area you view and your IP address. The “Directions” button opens Google Maps or Apple Maps with the charger’s address only when you press it; it does not include your position.

The charger data was collected from OpenStreetMap by a script run by us on a public Overpass API server. That script sends nothing about visitors. This site has no account, asks for no name or e-mail, and keeps nothing about you. If ads are ever turned on, a consent notice will appear first, and this page will be updated before they run.
